Minor Illnesses

We have a few minor ailments around at the moment- these conditions do not necessarily put your child at risk but could put pregnant mothers at risk Please see a healthcare professional if you have any worries.

We have few cases of chickenpox- children need to be off school / nursery until the spots have formed scabs

We have a few cases of Hand, Foot and Mouth- we do not need to ask children to be off nursery but would advise that you seek advice from a healthcare professional

We also have a few cases of Slap-Cheek- again we do not need to ask children to stay at home but please seek advice from a healthcare professional if you are worried about your child or the risk to yourself.

It is quite common for a number of minor ailments to arise at this time of year as temperatures drop and the children join a group setting for the first time. We always promote hand-washing and good hygiene which is the best measure we can take to prevent ailments from spreading.
