Message from the Chair

The Governors at Eastwood have traditionally had a close and effective relationship with the school and centre.

Governors are there to be a ‘critical friend’ – to provide strategic leadership and accountability. They set the aims and objectives for Eastwood, and the policies and targets for achieving those aims and objectives. They monitor and evaluate the progress the school and Centre are making.

The full Governing Body meets three times a year, and there are subcommittees that focus on finance, personnel and achievement, which have their own separate meetings. Governors are welcome to visit at any time and report on what they see.

If you are over 18 years of age you could become a governor. You don’t need special qualifications and there are no particular requirements, other than a willingness to give time to the role and a capacity for working well with other people.

If you would like further information, please get in touch with the head teacher.
